With the acquisition of the 9 Crowleys Pharmacies in Dublin in May 2001 Unicarepharmacy took the first step into the Irish pharmacy market.
This was followed during the same year with a further 13 acquisitions - 2 in Carlow, 1 in Wicklow, 2 in Dublin, 6 in Limerick, 1 in Cork, 1 in Clonmel.
In 2002 we acquired a further 31 Pharmacies in Dublin, Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Mullingar and Kildare.
In 2003 we acquired a further 2 pharmacies in Gorey, Co Wexford, and Greystones, Co. Wicklow.
In 2007 we acquired a further acquisition of the 11 McSweeny pharmacies and opened a new store in Charleville Town Centre and followed in early 2008 with an acquisition of O'Leary's pharmacy in Cork. Our most recent aquisitions are Abbey Pharmacy in Wicklow, and Cabra Pharmacy.

Approximately 2,300 of Celesio’s own retail pharmacies, as part of Patient and Consumer Solutions, serve over 550,000 customers every day. In its wholesale activities, which are part of Pharmacy Solutions, around 140 wholesale branches deliver to over 65,000 pharmacies – day in, day out.
